Purity Spring Resort

Time to book your skiing vacation at the Purity Spring Resort and hit the slopes at the King Pine Ski Area. From mid-December through late March, King Pine offers up 17 trails, four lifts and runs for every level of skier, ranging from green to double-black diamond. You can also go snowshoeing or cross-country skiing over 20 kilometers of trails, most with stunning views. There’s also snowboarding, ice skating, hiking and a rope-pull snow tubing hill. Afterward, go back to the resort to relax in the indoor pool or hot tub, catch dinner at the Pine Cone Cafe or a drink at the Trail End Tavern.

Snow comes early and stays late, making it the perfect place for winter sports enthusiasts. At the Black Mountain ski resort, which has been around since 1935, there are 143 acres of ski-able terrain on 45 trails on a mountain with an elevation of 2,350 feet. Over at Bretton Woods Ski Resort, the state’s largest ski area, there are 62 trails, 35 glades and two terrain parks for skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities. Several other ski resorts are within easy driving distance, so you’ll find the slopes and conditions to your liking – with plenty of dining and lodging options for your classic skiing getaway.

Pats Peak
686 Flanders Road Henniker, NH 03242 603-428-3245 Celebrating 60 years of operation in the 2022-23 season, Pats Peak is just a half-hour drive from southern New Hampshire urban areas and 90 minutes from Boston. Dedicated learning areas welcome beginnings for lessons. More than 70 adult racing teams are active on the mountain. Lots of night skiing opportunities. Very dynamic terrain parks. Special skiing days for women only, college students, and other groups. Learn about and enjoy snowshoeing at the Forest Discovery Trail. Wildcat Mountain Ski Area
Skiers, snowboarders can get wild this winter at this classic New England ski resort

Bring your skis, your snowboards and your sense of adventure to Wildcat Mountain in pristine Pinkham Notch. This classic ski resort in the White Mountain National Forest is consistently ranked No. 1 for scenery in the East, and provides unique experiences for every level of skier and rider. The 48 trails are accessed in under seven minutes by the high-speed Wildcat Express Quad. The resort features the longest novice trail in New Hampshire: the 2.5-mile Polecat trail with amazing views from the summit to the base; and the Wildcat Valley Trail for cross-country skiers. Lessons for adults and kids are offered, and you can dine in the cafeteria or in the Wildcat Pub.
Abenaki Ski Area

Seven trails -- ranging from easy to black-diamond -- offer relaxed skiing, including night skiing. Area has glades and a terrain park, friendly workers, and a small rustic lodge. Abenaki is relaxed, uncrowded, with a small-town feel. Nice and low-key for families and kids.
Attitash Mountain Resort (and Bear Peak)
775 US Route 302 Bartlett, NH 03812 603-374-2600 Classic ski area with trails for all abilities, and glades for experts. It is the sister ski area to Wildcat Mountain. The Abenaki terrain park is on Bear Peak. Easily reached from the Abenaki lift mid-station. Attitash has an excellent ski and snowboard school. Back country glades are not maintained or patrolled; these areas are recommended only for expert skiers. Ski and snowboard rentals. Plenty of restaurants and bars at the two base areas and in Mount Washington Valley. The Attitash Grand Summit Hotel has luxury lodging and a dynamic after-ski scene. Attitash’s Nor’Easter Mountain Coaster is 4,000 feet of banked curves down the mountainside. The Coaster is open when resort is in winter operation.
Cannon Mountain

At 4,080 feet, the mountain is the highest ski area summit in New Hampshire – and it has the state’s longest vertical drop, too, at 2,180 feet. Twenty-five miles of trails – beginner, intermediate and expert – guarantee a great time on the slopes. The terrain parks are equally exciting, ranging from a learning/beginner area to a park with medium-size jumps and features and finally the Tossup terrain, with large features and big air-inspired hits. There’s a Snowsports School for adults and kids and a special learning area for beginners and families seeking a more relaxed atmosphere. Lots of places to get a bowl of chili, a burger or a brew.
Mount Sunapee Ski Area

Nice variety of wide trails, glades, snowboarding parks, and moguls. Lessons at the learning center and lots of easy beginning trails at the South Peak learning area make it welcoming for novices. A unique Families First package allows parents and kids to learn to ski all together, a new canopy zip line tour adds a two-hour adventure with zip-lines, rappels, and a rope bridge.
Ragged Mountain Resort
620 Ragged Mountain Road Danbury, NH 03230 603-768-3600 Ragged Mountain has two mountain peaks and plenty of trails. A wonder carpet lift pampers beginners, along with a expanded learning terrain. Natural features for snowboarders have been added to the Wildwoods terrain park. Ragged Mountain’s high-speed chairlift gets skiers and riders to the summit in less than five minutes.

Gunstock Mountain Resort Ski Area
719 Cherry Valley Road Gilford, NH 03249 603-293-4341 Skiing and Snowboarding -- Gunstock, with beautiful views overlooking lake Winnipesaukee, is the major ski mountain in New Hampshire closest to Boston, with easy access from I-93 and I-95. The 202-2021 season brings more snow tubing runs and a new carpet lift. Thirty groomed Nordic trails also are used for snowshoeing, fat biking, skijoring; night skiing. Private and group lessons ski and snowboard lessons are offered to adults and kids. All lessons must be booked online in advance.
